How to Replace 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Headlight Bulb
Step 1: Gather Tools
- Secure a flat blade screwdriver and a small pair of side cutters.
Step 2: Access Bulb
- For passenger side replacement, remove the airbox using a screwdriver.
- Undo four screws securing the lid, disconnect the MAF sensor, and loosen the intake boot clamp.
- Remove the air filter and pop the airbox out.
- For both sides, remove the plastic clips retaining the radiator shroud. Fold down the shroud to access the headlight bulbs.
Step 3: Remove Old Bulb
- Turn the cover on the back of the headlight counterclockwise to release it.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the housing.
Step 4: Install New Bulb
- Insert the new bulb into the housing with the connector end at the four/five o'clock position.
- Turn clockwise and reconnect the electrical connector. Ensure the arrow on the cover is pointing down, reinstall it, and lock it back into place.
Step 5: Reassemble
- Reattach the plastic shroud, airbox, and all previously removed parts in reverse order of removal.
- For turn signal bulbs, reach through the access panel on either side, turn the bulb socket counterclockwise, and replace the bulb.
