FAQs
How To Replace The Headlight Bulb on A 2007 Honda Civic
- Open the Hood: Start by opening your Honda Civic's hood and locating the low beam bulb behind the headlight, noting its position near the brake lines and washer jug neck.
- Access from Fender: Move to the passenger side fender. The bulb is best accessed by peeling back the fender liner, located underneath.
- Remove Fender Clips: Before peeling the liner, remove two fender clips using a flathead screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver into the groove of the clip, wiggle, and spin to ease out the middle portion. Replace any broken clips.
- Peel Fender Liner: Start by the bumper, push down the fender liner, freeing it from behind the bumper until it's loose.
- Reach the Bulb: Once the liner is loose, reach up behind it to access the bulb.
- Remove the Bulb: Use your left hand to turn the bulb counterclockwise with your thumb on top of the bulb and index finger on the side of the plug. Then pull it out.
- Disconnect the Plug: Push the bottom of the plug with your thumb to release it, then pull the bulb out.
- Install New Bulb: Get a 9006 bulb. Insert the new bulb with tabs aligned, facing away from the engine at a 45° angle downwards. Turn it clockwise until vertical and locked in.
- Reconnect Plug: Attach the plug to the bulb until it clicks, indicating it's secured.
- Reposition Fender Liner: Tuck the fender liner back behind the bumper, starting from the lowest point.
- Replace Clips: Finally, reinsert the fender clips. If they don't fit easily, compress the tabs slightly before pushing them into the hole, then push the middle back in.
