2016 Hyundai Elantra Headlight Bulb Size
The "2016 Hyundai Elantra Bulb Size Guide" illustrates a meticulous approach to automotive lighting, showcasing a wide variety of bulb sizes for distinct functions. With 15 unique bulb positions, this model demonstrates a commitment to specific lighting requirements for each part of the vehicle. The Elantra employs an 881 bulb for fog lights, and two different types for low beam headlights: 9005 for projector-type and H11 for standard headlights. The integration of LEDs in daytime running lights, certain brake lights, and select tail lights reflects a shift towards energy efficiency. The use of 2357A bulbs for both front turn signals and parking lights reveals a preference for versatile, multi-functional bulb types.
The Hyundai Elantra 2016 strikes a balance between practicality and contemporary design. Its lighting system, blending traditional bulbs with modern LEDs, reflects this blend of old and new. FAQs
How to Replace 2016 Hyundai Elantra Headlight Bulb
- Prepare Tools: You’ll need a Phillips screwdriver and a 12mm socket.
- Remove Panel Screws: Start by removing the screws that hold the panel above the grill. These are Philips screws inside plastic retainer clips. Pop these clips out after unscrewing.
- Access Headlight Fasteners: There are three fasteners holding the headlight - two Phillips head screws and one 12mm bolt. Remove these counterclockwise.
- Disconnect Electrical Plug: Before removing the headlight, disconnect the electrical plug by pinching the tab and pulling it backwards.
- Remove the Headlight: The headlight is held by two fastener clips. Pull the headlight forward to free it from these clips. Maneuver the headlight out by pushing the top down while pulling the front part out.
- Replace the Bulb: Open the back cap of the headlight (turn left to open). Remove the old bulb by turning it to the left and pulling it out. Disconnect the electrical plug from the bulb.
- Install New Bulb: Connect the new bulb (H11 type) to the electrical plug, align it with the tabs inside the headlight, and twist to the right to secure. Replace the back cap by turning it to the right.
- Reinstall the Headlight: Carefully place the headlight back, ensuring the front end is properly positioned. Push back into place until the fastener clips click.
- Secure Fasteners and Electrical Plug: Reattach the three fasteners and reconnect the electrical plug.
- Test the Lights: Before finalizing, test the lights to ensure they work properly.
- Reassemble Panel: Reattach the panel above the grill with the retainer clips and screws.
