2009 Nissan Altima Headlight Bulb Size
The "2009 Nissan Altima Bulb Size Guide" reflects a vehicle that balances between traditional and modern lighting technologies. This model employs a variety of bulb sizes, with at least 16 unique bulb positions identified. A recurring theme is the use of H11 bulbs for both fog lights (in LED format) and halogen low beam headlights, demonstrating a preference for versatile bulb types in different lighting conditions. The high beam headlights utilize H9 bulbs, while the low beams with HID headlights require D2R bulbs, indicating a mix of standard halogen and high-intensity discharge technologies. The Altima also incorporates 3157R bulbs for both brake and tail lights, showing consistency in rear lighting. Notably, LED options are available for center high mount stop lights, suggesting an embrace of LED technology in key areas for improved energy efficiency and longevity.
Nissan Altima 2009 is a ride that blends the old with the new. With its mix of halogen and HID in the headlights and the incorporation of LEDs, it offers a varied lighting experience. However, this diversity might pose challenges for consistency in lighting performance and maintenance.

FAQs
How to Replace 2009 Nissan Altima Headlight Bulb
Prepare Your Vehicle
No need to jack up the car, but it may be easier if you do. Ensure you're working on a stable, flat surface.
Wheel Positioning
If working on the left side, turn the wheel to the right (and vice versa) for easier access.
Access Wheel Well Area
Go underneath the car in the wheel well area. You'll need to remove some of the plastic splash shield for access.
Remove Splash Shield Fasteners
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove three screws and a plastic tab in the splash shield area.
Maneuver the Splash Shield
Gently pull back the splash shield underneath the bumper to access the headlight area.
Locate the Bulb
Inside the wheel well, find the back of the headlight bulb. You'll see a green tab which is the connector.
Remove the Bulb
Turn the entire bulb connector counterclockwise (lefty loosey) to loosen and remove it.
Disconnect the Wiring
After loosening, pull the tab on the connector and remove the bulb.
Install New Bulb
Grab your new bulb (LED or halogen). If using an LED with a pigtail, it still connects the same way as the halogen. Make sure the prongs on the base of the bulb align with the notches in the headlight assembly.
Secure the Bulb
Insert the new bulb and turn it clockwise to tighten. Ensure it's firmly in place.
Reassemble Splash Shield
Tuck the splash shield back into place and reinsert the screws and clip.
Test the Lights
Before wrapping up, test the new bulb to ensure it's working properly.
