How to replace the 2017 Subaru WRX headlight bulb?
First things first, you'll need the right 2017 Subaru WRX bulb size. Of course, you may consult the owner's manual, but let's be honest, that's as dull. Instead, just look at the chart above or remove the old bulb to see its size. It's not rocket science; it's more like... bulb science.
Follow the simple step-by-step instructions:
- 1) Park the 2017 Subaru WRX on an even surface and turn off the ignition.
- 2) Open the hood and pop it up.
- 3) Pull the lock bar up and out of the clip to fix the hood.
- 4) Identify the back of the headlight assembly where the bulb is housed.
- 5) You may need to remove other components to access it.
- 6) Locate the electrical connector at the back of the headlight compartment.
- 7) Press down on the locking tab and pull the connector away from the bulb.
- 8) Remove the Old Bulb. Depending on your trim, you may need to:
- a) Unscrew a retaining ring
- b) Unclip a metal pin
- c) Rotate the bulb counterclockwise
- 9) Insert the new bulb without touching the glass.
- 10) Plug the electrical connector back, making sure it clicks into place.
- 11) Turn on the headlights to test the new bulb.
- 12) You may need to aim your headlights.
